VERDICT REACHED IN NIGERIAN LEAGUE MATCH FIXING SCANDAL – Aderonke Ogunleye

The final verdict of the disciplinary committee of the Nigerian Football Federation for the alleged match fixing between Sunshine Stars of Akure and Lobi Stars of Makurdi in October 2011.

Sunshine stars fined for N20 million
Dolphins FC N10 million
Dolphins Coach- Stanley Eguma banned for 5years
Centre Referee; Christantus Okoro ban for 5years
Assistant Referee 2 Durunna CID ban for 5years
Devine Benjamin(driver of sunshine star’s car) banned for 5years

Warning letter to Mike Idoko for the ungentlemanly conduct during prematch meeting process.

Dominic Iorfa to be reprimanded for ungentlemany conduct too.

They were banned and fined respectively for attempting a match fixing which is an offence according to the statutes of the NFF.

They verdict is subject to Appeal.
